Senior Orchestra Students at Shawnee Mission West High School are invited to apply for the West PRESTO Senior Scholarship, see details below. The deadline to turn in your completed application is April 15th of the current school year (if this falls on a weekend, the deadline will be the next regularly scheduled school day).

Goal of the Scholarship:

Provide financial support for post-secondary education and promote appreciation and continued exploration of Orchestra and Instrumental Music.

Eligibility:

Applicant must be a Senior Orchestra student graduating from Shawnee Mission West High School in the current school year and continuing their education by attending a College or University. Note: It is NOT a requirement of this scholarship to be a Music/Orchestra Major.

The applicant must show a continuing interest in Orchestra and/or Instrumental Music and must be in good academic standing with Shawnee Mission West High School.

Amount:

One scholarship in the amount of $500 (and optionally up to two scholarships in the amount of $250 – depending upon the number of applicants and available funding) will be awarded as selected by the West Presto Scholarship Committee.

Scholarship checks will be issued to the successful applicant AND the college or university upon proof of registration to an accredited college or university program.

Submission Deadline:

Completed applications should be turned in by April 15 of the current school year to the Counselors office of Shawnee Mission West High School (if this falls on a weekend, the deadline will be the next regularly scheduled school day).
